SUMMER JUNIOR PROGRAMS

We are proud to partner with Chris Conrad to run our junior programs. Each member of his teaching staff is a career instructional professional certified by either the United States Professional Tennis Association or the United States Professional Tennis Registry.

The junior programs are organized according to ages and skill levels which are designated by different colored balls, often referred to as the ROG (Red, Orange, Green) and Yellow Ball Programs developed by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).

 Red Ball

Ages 5 – 9:   This class is designed for the youngest players as an introduction to the game of tennis. Red balls bounce lower and move more slowly through the air, giving beginners a chance to set up and take a good swing at the ball.

Orange Ball

Ages 8 – 12:   When comfortable at the red level, players graduate to playing at the orange level. Orange felt balls bounce higher and move faster than the red balls, but lower and slower than the green balls.

Green Ball
Ages 8 – 12:   When comfortable at the orange level, players graduate to playing at the green level. The green ball is very similar to the traditional yellow tennis ball, but has a slightly lower compression so it rebounds lower off the court after a bounce.

Yellow Ball
Ages 12 – 18:   This class is for older juniors.  The yellow ball class will be divided into groups based on how much on-court experience the junior has. Traditional yellow tennis balls are used.
