Oakmont Membership Information
Your yearly membership includes unlimited, free court time on our 7 Red Clay tennis courts.
Our soft Red Clay courts, similar to the surface at Roland Garros during the French Open, provide less stressful impact on the body than hard courts, produce a slower ball speed, and project a cooler surface temperature to make your playing experience much more enjoyable.
We aim to open the courts for the season as early as possible, but it all hinges on the weather. Most years we have them ready by late-March.
We begin closing the courts for the season sometime in late October. We try to keep two courts open into late November. Again, it’s all weather dependent.
We have a clubhouse that includes a social room, refrigerator, microwave, water fountain, and even a chess set, and men’s/women’s locker rooms with day lockers and showers. These amenities are enhanced by a wrap-around covered porch with several white rocking chairs. It’s so relaxing to sit, rock, and converse with other members while watching tennis. Our facility also offers a hitting wall, carts of balls for your use, and a ball machine… all at no extra charge.
There are scheduled leagues and groups for all levels of play throughout the season. Check out the current listing under Organized Play. The majority of these are at no additional cost.
We also offer free clinics for beginner and intermediate players. We also offer clincs for intermediate and advanced players for a modest fee. Be sure to check out the days/nights and times of these popular Clinics.
We have scheduled socials that are held in the spring, summer and fall. Pick-up games will be organized with attending members and guests. Refreshments will be served as well. They are meant to promote camaraderie among the members and to serve as a “meet and great” for new members. It’s the perfect time for new members to become familiar with Oakmont and all the activities planned for the year. We also conduct an End-of-Year social during which members help to close the courts for the winter. The list of socials and the dates that they will be held can be found on our Social Events Calendar. They are always a lot of fun. There is no cost to attend any of these gatherings.
We are a not-for-profit organization. While commercial clubs have a full-time staff, Oakmont does not; it is staffed by volunteers. Revenue from our membership fees supports the running and maintenance of the club. Most of the work at Oakmont is done voluntarily by our members.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
We hope you will join. We are certain you will enjoy your time playing on the red clay!
